Join us for a night of stunning music by Jazz vocalist Connie Evingson!

Connie Evingson has been a favorite here at the Market Square Concert Series since the series began.  Her recorded catalog of acclaimed CD's ranging from jazz standards to the music of Peggy Lee, the Beatles, bossa nova, blues, gypsy jazz and more reflects an adventurous spirit that knows no boundaries. 

A Twin Cities resident, Connie appears regularly in area concert halls and nightclubs, including The Dunsmore Room at Crooner’s,  Vieux Carré, the Dakota, the Woman’s Club, and the Jazz at the Jungle concert series.  She has appeared as a guest artist at Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis,  Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion, the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Doc Severinsen and the JazzMN Orchestra, and her music has been featured on NPR’s Fresh Air and Weekend Edition.   

Connie's 10 acclaimed CD's can be heard on radio stations around the world, and her music is featured on numerous compilation discs produced in the U.S., Japan, Europe and China.   She is a two-time recipient of both the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist's Initiative Grant.  

Appearing with Connie tonight in an eclectic program of jazz are Jon Weber (keyboard), Dave Karr (saxophone) and Gordy Johnson (bass).
